This planet is called Earth. Earth is the third planet from the sun! Mercury is first and Venus is second. The four inner planets are made of solid rock and iron. The four outer planets are made of gases such as helium, nitrogen, oxygen, etc. Our Sun is a big ball of gases and produces it's own light. It contains matter like solids, liquids, gases, and surprisingly plasma. Plasma is it's own type of matter, similar to Dark Matter. Scientists are discovering new planets that have their own type of life. "Some planets don't have life, but are capable of having them. Take the Kepler planet for example; it's a blueish color! This could mean that it has liquid water. It is also in the "Habitable Zone". This also means that it is in the right place(near it's sun but not too close) for life to develop and thrive. Did you know that Saturn has more than 1,000 rings surrounding it. They also come in different colors. They do this because the ice crystals in the rings reflect the sun's light. What would happen to the planets if the sun 'dies'? Well the Sun will create a "supernova". A supernova is a huge explosion that happens after a star 'dies'. This will happen when a star's own mass collapes on it's self. The star will either become a Blackhole or a pulsar. A blackhole is something that has really strong gravity. It is proven that light could "bend" in this event. As seen hear, Blackholes appear to be dark because they can suck in light or matter from other stars. People have wondered; "How big is the Universe?" Well, I can't answer this question but scientists have Theories about the scale of the Universe. Theories of the Universe Anybody has seen constallations at night, right? Well if you haven't, then you should know what they are. Constallations are a group of stars that are set in a pattern, creating 'pictures' in the sky. You only see them at night because at day, the Sun's light brightens the sky. there are about 100 diferent constallations, but I only know a few. Different constallations show at night at different seasons(winter, spring, summer, and fall/autum). These are examples of constallations you would see at night. The constallation 'Pegasus' is a horse-shaped constallation that is only seen at Autum. The constallation 'Draco' is a dragon-shaped constallation that is only seen in the summer alongside with 'sagitario' a centaur with a bow.
